Founder of Casita Adonai Visits North Carolina!

We are thrilled that Delmi Rivas will spend a few days with us in March. Caroline’s Promise partners with Delmi and her husband, Carlos who pastor Iglesia Adonai in Guatemala City. They founded Casita Adonai as an effort to minister to orphans and vulnerable children in their community. Our partnership with them has led us to develop a child sponsorship program that is reclaiming hope for these little ones and their families. If you sponsor a child at Casita, have been on a mission trip with us to Guatemala, or just want to learn more about what God is doing through this partnership, we invite you to join us for Coffee and Sweets. This special reception will be held on Mon day, March 7, 7:00pm at Shady Grove Wesleyan Church in Colfax, NC . Children are welcome to attend. The Journey...Will You Join Us?

Many of you have attended our Seeds of Hope Banquets in the past. They were always a time of advocacy and raising support for the ongoing ministry of Caroline’s Promise. In 2010 we took a break from this annual fundraiser because we felt like it wasn’t bringing in enough support to offset the resources used to host the event. Our Board of Directors realizes that in order for Caroline’s Promise to continue reclaiming hope for orphans, we’ll need to have one large fundraiser a year. After a lot of prayer and hard work, our team has developed an exciting event that will allow us to advocate for orphans, gain new volunteers, and raise needed funds for the ministry, while spending a fraction of what the Seeds of Hope Banquet required. The Journey will be held Saturday, April 30, 2011 in Greensboro, NC. It’s designed to be an experience where participants will journey through stations, experiencing life for orphans in the United States and around the world. We encourage you to mark your

A Child Shall Lead Them....

I have heard the phrase: “A child shall lead them” many times and I confess I never knew the origin of that phrase. Now, I do! My quiet had me in Psalm 71 this morning and I read on over to Psalm 72. All of God’s word is a treasure, but I was particularly encouraged in a very personal way through these verses today and wanted to share them. “He will bring justice to the poor of the people; He will save the children of the needy, and will break in pieces the oppressor.” That verse led into another verse from Isaiah 11:4 “But with righteousness He shall judge the poor, and decide with equity for the meek of the earth; He shall strike the earth with the rod of His mouth, and with the breath of His lips He shall slay the wicked. Righteousness shall be the belt of His loins and faithfulness the belt of His waist. The wolf shall dwell with the lamb, the leopard shall lie down with the young goat, the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them. Who is

Prayer...A Powerful Way To Reclaim Hope for Orphans

We’re building a Prayer Team for Caroline’s Promise. Over the years we’ve learned that often when you’re advocating for orphans, the spiritual battle can increase. God is using Caroline’s Promise in tangible ways and He’s changing lives. For that reason alone we’ve felt that we need to build a Team that is committed to pray for the ministry and those it impacts. When you sign up to be a member of our Prayer Team you will receive a monthly email with specific praises and requests. Each month we will highlight a specific ministry of Caroline’s Promise. Our interactive calendar will provide links to stories, photos, and videos that will give you more information. During the month of March our ministry focus is on Guyana. You can access this calendar from our website. Click “Upcoming events – view our calendar” Whenever there is an urgent need for prayer we will notify you by email. We can’t think of a better way to reclaim hope for orphans! To join this Team, please email LisaHolbrook@Car

Daytona Winner Advocating for Orphans

This is a repost taken from the Christian Alliance For Orphans' blog, which you can find here . Daytona Winner Raises Banner for Christ and Orphans February 22, 2011 in Advocacy,Christian Alliance Comments (0) Written By: Jedd Medefind The media has been abuzz with reports of Trevor Bayne, the 20-year-old driver who won Sunday’s Daytona 500. Trevor is the youngest Daytona 500 winner in history. Even better is the fact that he’ll be sharing a portion of his $1.4 million prize to help orphans through Back2Back Ministries, a highly-respected member of the Christian Alliance for Orphans. As described in one NASCAR news report today, “After becoming the youngest driver to ever win NASCAR’s biggest race, Trevor Bayne praised Jesus Christ and said his prize would help support the work of Back2Back Ministries. “The Rev. Lonnie Clouse, a former NASCAR chaplain, says Bayne was a regular at his Bible studies and chapel services. Clouse now works at Back2Back orphanages in Monterrey, Mexico,
It started with a conviction. The kids across the street playing in an empty lot needed a friend. As Josh entered college his life slowly became intertwined with some twenty kids from the surrounding neighborhood. Started by his friend, Josh found himself the primary instigator of time with the kids. And the relationships grew. Most of the kids had no father present and many had only a ghost of a mother. Countless times the kids would tell Josh about wandering the streets whenever they pleased and often they asked to be dropped off far away from the places they called home. These middle and high school-aged kids had seen it all and for a sheltered, country boy like Josh these friendships were always an invitation to walk beside kids into unfamiliar territory. Josh’s fiance Harmonee arrived at school a semester later and introduced herself to the group. Slowly the couple transitioned from taking the group to church and began having a weekly meal coupled with Bi
