Sunday In Guyana

"You're my strength and my miracle. You're my peace, yes, You are."
We had the awesome privilege to spend much of Sunday with the people of
Vreed-en-hoop Wesleyan Church in two of their services.  Our team was
actually able to help lead worship alongside of their praise team.  It was
so wonderful to have our voices and our praise united to glorify our Father!
Even with our very different Guyanese and American backgrounds, we knew many
of the same songs such as "Better Is One Day" and "How Great is Our God."
In addition, we were able to teach them a few new songs and they taught us
some new ones, including the one at the beginning of this post (which was
written by worship team member!)

Pastor Marlon, gave a tremendous morning message from Acts 2 about the
responsibility of individuals to evangelize and spread the gospel message
while our minister. Then , Pastor Rusty and team were invited on the spur of
the moment to lead worship and speak in the evening.  God led us to focus on
how the Spirit fills us with the fullness of God's agape love.  We are
looking forward to the future partnership between our churches,
Vreed-en-hoop Wesleyan and Christ Wesleyan.  Please pray for us as we meet
with Pastor Marlon on Monday to further discuss God's vision for our work
together in the future.

In between the two services, we were able to visit the children at Ruimveldt
Children's Home and Care Centre.  Several in our group were part of a team
that years ago literally laid the foundation for the home.  For one member
in particular, the visit was a milestone as it was the first time he was
able to see the fruits of his hard work in the faces of the children there.
We enjoyed a time of crafts with the kids. The boys were partnered with a
male team member and worked together to build wooden cars, planes and boats,
while the girls partnered with the ladies to make simple sacks that they
personalized with stamps.  We'll have an opportunity to spend some more time
with them later in the week.

Please continue to remember our team this week as we seek to be filled with
the Spirit and share God's agape love with those around us.  He is clearly
already at work in Guyana and we are thrilled to be chosen by Him to be a
part of what He is doing here!

Mission team member's "idea" + Facebook Fundraiser = Jobs in San Nicolas

Our last team to Guatemala was in November of 2019.  That seems impossible but it's true.   The primary focus of the team was a pediatric medical clinic that was hugely successful.  However, that wasn't the only seed that was planted that week in the community of San Nicolas.   Wanda King has been going to Guatemala with Caroline's Promise for years.  We can always count on her to bring hand sanitizer, goodie bags that she and her sister make for everyone, and lots of love!  One of the things I love most about Wanda is that she is willing to step in and do anything that is asked of her.  A few weeks before this trip she asked if she could bring a set of hair cutting supplies.  I didn't know if there was a need, but I knew that Wanda felt strongly that she should bring them and so I said "of course!"  Little did we know the impact that one idea would make.   Wanda spent most of that week teaching our partner, Monica how to cut hair.  We quickly realized that
