One Child’s Story Of Making A Difference

Taylor went to Guatemala with her mother in the summer of 2008. This is her story about the experience. “I traveled to Guatemala with Caroline's Promise in July of 2008.  I learned so much on my trip.  I had never been out of the country and it was so good to travel with my mom.  I loved having her all to myself.  I didn't really know what to expect on our trip.  I knew we were going to visit orphanages and try to spread the Gospel but I didn't realize how much different the children in Guatemala would live from the way I live in the U.S.A. My life before Guatemala was that I never wanted to go to school.  I still got good grades and everything but I wasn't enjoying it.  I had a hard time wanting to spend time reading.  I just wasn't very interested.  My visit to Guatemala changed all that.  When I saw this one school we visited, the building wasn't even a full building.  It didn't have walls that went to the ceiling or all the way down to the floor.
