Please Pray With Us   We are praying  Isaiah 61  over ourselves and  our friends in Guatemala.  Take a few minutes and read through this Chapter. Feel free to print this list and pray with us throughout the months of February and March Grief and Trauma Team (February 23-26)   - Pray for the health, safety, and wisdom of this team as they minister to the family of Erik and Samuel and our partners in Guatemala. We are asking God to continue the healing that He has started, and to give this team a supernatural amount of strength and courage as they grieve with our friends in Guatemala. Teacher Salary Needs - We have committed to send additional financial and support in 2018 to help Casita Adonai pay their teachers what they deserve. We are currently short $1,000 a month with this need. One of my favorite verses is found in Ephesians 3:20   I have claimed this verse so many times and God has proven to be faithful.  I believe the key is to make sure that our heart is aligned with His, and to pray.  Confidently and regularly. One of the best ways that you can partner with us at Caroline's promise is to PRAY!! Here are a few things that we are talking to God about this month.  Won't you join us? Summer Teams :  We have about 75 people joining us this summer and we are asking God to prepare their hearts, provide what they need, and work in and through them while  they are with us in Guatemala . By now, many of you have read about the tragedy that took place yesterday in a government run children's home just outside of Guatemala City.  Reports are conflicting but this is what we know. *  The home was able to house 400 but there were at least 700 (some say closer to 900) children living there. *  The children ranged from young children to older teens.  Some were orphans, others were runaways, some had been serving time for crimes. *  A riot broke out on Tuesday night when some of the children began to protest because of inhumane conditions - lack of food, violence, sexual abuse. *  On Wednesday morning some mattresses were set on fire and 19 girls died on the scene. *  Since then, at least 11 more have died in hospitals. So what can we do?  It's interesting to me that when tragedies like this happen we all want to "do something".  I'm the same way.  Right now, I know that we can pray.  And that's the best thing...

It's hard to believe we are nearing the end of January 2017.  Time flies! We wanted to update you on a few ways that you can pray for the ministry of Caroline's Promise this week. Lisa will head to Guatemala tomorrow with two teachers and together they will host the first Casita Teacher & Staff  Retreat.  We are so thankful to God and our amazing donors who are making this possible!  On Thursday our team will be in the classroom, observing the teachers and then later, over lunch we will hear more about their needs.  On Friday 23 of us will head to the beach where we will spend the weekend in a house, building team unity, getting closer to Jesus, and learning. Here's how you can pray: *  Safety in travel for the team and staff. *  Health.  All 3 team members have had some physical junk going on. *  Jesus - that He will show up and show off!  We are specifically asking that if any of our teachers and staff don't know Jesus ...

The past few months I have been repeatedly given this image of Jesus interceding for me.  This past Sunday it was through this verse in Hebrews 7 ..... 24  But He, (Jesus)  because He continues forever, has an unchangeable priesthood. 25  Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him,  since He always lives to make intercession for them." Jesus lives to make intercession for us!  That is so humbling and encouraging.  So when we pray we are not only joining each other as the Body of Christ - but we are joining Him! Many of you have heard about the political unrest in Guatemala.  It's so hard to know exactly what is going on but one thing is sure........ we need to pray.   For the past several months we have watched our friends protest in a peaceful manner.  I (Lisa) was there during one of these protests and the energy was electric.  The order and unity blew me away.  This article explains how the protests began.  Corruption has been exposed and the Vice President has been arrested.  Guatemalans are asking that the President resign.  Presidential elections are scheduled for September 6 and most of our partners and friends feel like the candidate that is most likely to win is just as corrupt as the current President.
