Volunteers Needed for Special Projects This Month

Thanks to everyone who made our Guate Tacular Celebration such a success!  We LOVE our volunteers!

October will be a month of preparation and November will be busy with fair trade and Orphan Sunday events.

We are looking for a volunteer who can put a VIDEO together of our 6th grade graduation class.  Time is running out - we need it by Ocotber 15.  If you like to do this sort of thing, let us now asap.  We can get you the pics and the music.

We also need a volunteer to work with some photos - attaching them to foam board for a new display.  If you are crafty and like working with photos, let us know.  This project needs to be completed by October 28.

Caroline's Promise will be at The Holiday Market at the Greensboro Coliseum the weekend of November 1-3.  If you would like to help (think free entry!) let us know.

SOL to perform at Caroline's Promise Guat-Tacular Celebration this Sunday!

We are excited to have Winston-Salem based band, SOL with us this Sunday at our Guate-Tacular Celebration!  For the past few years we've heard these guys at Rock the Block and other street festivals so we were thrilled to learn that they wanted to share in our 10 year Anniversary Celebration.  Then we found out WHY!  Several of their band members are from GUATEMALA!  They love Jesus and are excited to be able to help us raise funds to build a school in Guatemala City.

Don't miss their special acoustical set at 4pm - right after someone KISSES THE PIG!

You will find all the details you need on our Facebook Event Page or our website

It's going to be a beautiful day so bring your chairs.  Bouncy house, kids' games, and photo booth are FREE!  Tickets for other activities are $1 each.  Hamburgers $5 and Hot Dogs $3 while they last starting at 12noon.  Bake sale and plenty of bottled water.  Shop our fair trade tent and bring your donations to help us build this school!  We'll be at Harmon Park in Kernersville from 12noon - 5pm.  Parking is available along the street or across from the park in the library or bank lots.

Check out SOL on their facebook page.

A Meaningful Impact

We've mentioned that one of the three teams serving in Guatemala this summer was an all-girls team. The uniqueness of that team allowed us to care for a special group of girls in Guatemala that are already serving in leadership positions in their church and community. The all-girls team loved on them and cared for them at a retreat camp.

The camp was a special time of fun, healing and learning about God's great love for each girl. Some of the girls who attended the camp shared in their church service at Iglesia Adonai about how the camp impacted them.
Here is what one person said:"The service on Sunday was awesome, There were 22 girls, we had 15 minutes to talk and Silvia and Madeline shared their personal testimony and how the camp helped them... All the girls said how the camp impacted them in one word... Forgiveness, Love, Share, Be near to God, Happiness, God's love, was a blast, harmony, strength...those were some words the girls said. Anna Roco and I talked about how Caroline's promise helped to sponsor all of us... we sang and praised to the Lord!! Thank you Jesus for the huge blessing."

Not only did the Lord do a work in the lives of our Guatemalan sisters, but the camp also impacted the girls on the team. Click here to see what they had to say.

Caroline's Promise would especially like to thank everyone who sponsored a girl for camp. A big thank you to Boni Russell for her t-shirt design, and to Logo Wear Graphics of Summerfield who printed the shirts.
