Eight years ago David and I were on a bus driving from Lake Atitlan to Guatemala City. We had spent a wonderful week with two different teams from North Carolina and Impacto Ministries. Some were sleeping, some were playing cards, most were beginning to process their week. I remember looking out the window and suddenly getting a sense that I needed to pray. We had been in the adoption process for about two years and were waiting for our daughter to be born. It was very clear in that moment that the Lord was calling me to pray for our child's birthmom. It wasn't until we returne
d home that we learned that this precious woman had given birth that same day to our daughter.....Caroline.Our lives have certainly changed since that day. All of the waiting was worth it when we welcomed her home five months later. Now she's a vibrant, loving, fun eight year old who loves Jesus! And in two days she'll return to Guatemala to give back to her birth country. We are certainly blessed! Happy Birthday Sweet Caroline!
