Romans 8:28 “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” (Y sabemos que en todas las cosas interviene Dios para el bien de los que le aman, que han sido llamados según su designio).
The first week team was excited to arrive in Guatemala City on Saturday after experiencing air travel delays and change in initial plans. With a positive attitude, we worked to get all luggage and supplies in place and settle in to our rooms. We were welcomed by Pastor Carlos and his wife Delmi at the airport. We had a wonderful meal together and our first group meeting.
On Saturday we had the privilege of working at Casita Adonai. Caroline’s Promise helps support this church school and the children who attend there. This ministry is in a hazardous region of Guatemala City where these orphans/vulnerable children receive an education, a meal and the hope that is found in Jesus Christ. (You too can partner with these efforts by sponsoring a child at Casita: http://carolinespromise4u.org/orphan-care/child-sponsorship/) The computer lab, hallways, upstairs classroom, new snack shop, and library all got a fresh look with some new paint and lots of elbow grease. We also sorted medical, vacation bible school and other supplies and prepared for an exciting week of ministry.
It has been such a blessing getting to know one another, the Guatemalans involved with Iglesia Adonai and the people they serve. We look forward to seeing how God uses our team to minister on behalf of Caroline’s Promise.
