On Wednesday we took the fifth grade class to Antigua for the day. We visited several historic sites, took a tour of the Jade Factory, ate lunch at McDonald's and played. We spent time in the park where the girls had their hair braided and our guys bought bracelets for the boys. Before we left they took a carriage ride and had ice cream. It was an amazing day to say the least!
We were all impacted by their excitement. It was often overwhelming to just watch them being kids. Most of them never have the opportunity to leave the city and just play. When asked what their favorite part of the day was, most said "Playing frisbee" with the team. One girl said "Just spending the day with you." The general consensus at the end of the day is that we will make this an annual event. We are blessed to invest in them and ask you to join us in praying that God will send others from the church to invest in them once we leave.
