Looking for used musical instruments

Rodrigo taught music at Casita Adonai last year and we quickly realized that he not only had a love of music - but a love of Jesus and kids!  This year Rodrigo has moved into the position of Assistant Director at the school and is also teaching music and computers.  We love his heart for ministry and his desire for the kids to know Jesus.

In January Rodrigo shared his dream of turning one of the storage rooms on the second floor of the Building of Promise into a music studio for Casita.  Typically one of our teams would work on a project like this, but we are seeing a shift in the thinking of our partners in Guatemala.  It's the awareness that they have the skills and resources to do what God has called them to.  So we weren't surprised when we saw this photo of Rodrigo - standing in the new Casita music studio!  We are so proud of him for making this happen!

The studio will not only be a place where students can learn how to play different instruments but Rodrigo plans to develop a praise team that can lead the school in worship.  All that is missing are instruments.  We plan to send a shipment of supplies in May and would love to include any used or new band instruments, keyboards, guitars, etc.  If you have something that you would like to donate or if you would like to contribute financially to the cost of shipping, please contact us at lisaholbrook@carolinespromise.net.

Please be in prayer for Rodrigo as he helps lead the school.  He and his wife, Monica lead their own ministry in another part of the city, an arts academy that not only teaches music and dance, but provides meals, tutoring, and the love of Jesus.  He travels by bus one hour each way to get to Casita.  We are praying for protection for him and his family and for continual provision for him to do the things that God has called him to.

Medical need for Rodrigo's Family

Mission team member's "idea" + Facebook Fundraiser = Jobs in San Nicolas

Our last team to Guatemala was in November of 2019.  That seems impossible but it's true.   The primary focus of the team was a pediatric medical clinic that was hugely successful.  However, that wasn't the only seed that was planted that week in the community of San Nicolas.   Wanda King has been going to Guatemala with Caroline's Promise for years.  We can always count on her to bring hand sanitizer, goodie bags that she and her sister make for everyone, and lots of love!  One of the things I love most about Wanda is that she is willing to step in and do anything that is asked of her.  A few weeks before this trip she asked if she could bring a set of hair cutting supplies.  I didn't know if there was a need, but I knew that Wanda felt strongly that she should bring them and so I said "of course!"  Little did we know the impact that one idea would make.   Wanda spent most of that week teaching our partner, Monica how to cut hair.  We quickly realized that
