Construction Update

Look what you're helping us do in Guatemala!

It's time to update you on the work being done on the Building of Promise.

The original space on the first floor has been remodeled. Huge columns were installed in each classroom in an effort to support the third floor soccer/ sport court. All of the classrooms were enlarged and received new flooring. The hallway going out the back of the first floor will look very different to those of you who have visited. It no longer is open, because the second floor meeting room was expanded to accommodate the soccer court.

The large meeting room on the second floor was expanded, new windows are being installed on the right side of the room, and this area will receive new flooring. This created a larger meeting room and of course huge columns have been installed to support the soccer court. Part of the roof had to be removed during construction making this area "open" and vulnerable to rain that will come in April. We need to pour concrete for this ceiling (also the floor of the soccer court) ASAP.

Two levels of steps have been installed - from the second to the third floor. No more climbing that sketchy ladder :)

Classrooms are under way on the third floor.

As money comes in, two bathrooms as well as an area for gardening projects will also be built. The atrium style dome in this photo will be raised and this look will mirror the open area on the second floor.

Thank you so much for helping us! Our most pressing need is $20,000 to pour the concrete that will be ceiling of the second floor and base of the soccer/sport court. We need to do this ASAP before April rains come.

The soccer/sport court will be here. We can't wait to see kids and families from the community enjoying this space and finding Jesus! Do you see those trees that God planted years ago? We think it was His dream to have this rooftop play space in area where kids can't safely play outside. So he went ahead and planted those trees in advance.

Where are they now? Sthefany

Hello, my name is Sthefany.   I am 16 years old and am currently in the 4th year of high school in Biological Sciences.  First of all I want to thank the Groves Family who sponsored me during my primary school period because thanks to them I was able to complete primary school.  I am also very grateful because although I did not meet my sponsors, I appreciated them very much for the support and help they contributed in my life.   It was a great blessing that Caroline's Promise can contribute great things in the life of a person.  The experience I had was totally great. I got to know places thanks to them and they also showed me their love through letters (letters that I still have), gifts and financial aid. I would really like to meet and know how my sponsors are and meet them in person and thank them personally.   And well, I think that these kinds of experiences make you grow as a person in all aspects and how wonderful that those kinds of people exist, s...

Medical need for Rodrigo's Family

Mission team member's "idea" + Facebook Fundraiser = Jobs in San Nicolas

Our last team to Guatemala was in November of 2019.  That seems impossible but it's true.   The primary focus of the team was a pediatric medical clinic that was hugely successful.  However, that wasn't the only seed that was planted that week in the community of San Nicolas.   Wanda King has been going to Guatemala with Caroline's Promise for years.  We can always count on her to bring hand sanitizer, goodie bags that she and her sister make for everyone, and lots of love!  One of the things I love most about Wanda is that she is willing to step in and do anything that is asked of her.  A few weeks before this trip she asked if she could bring a set of hair cutting supplies.  I didn't know if there was a need, but I knew that Wanda felt strongly that she should bring them and so I said "of course!"  Little did we know the impact that one idea would make.   Wanda spent most of that week teaching our partner, Monica how to cut...
