Building of Promise Fundraiser for Lisa's Birthday!

In 2013, God gave me a vision for a 3 story building at our partner church, Iglesia Adonai.  At the time, they had a one story structure that they shared with their school, Casita Adonai.  The roof was leaking and we assumed that we would just help them put a new roof on.  I clearly remember standing in my church’s sanctuary during a service when the vision came.  It wasn’t a new roof.  It was a building.
Over the next year, you helped us raise funds, and in March of 2014, we started the project.  The existing building was torn down, and over the next 4 years we raised money, built a little, raised more money, built some more.
Because of your support, students are learning in those classrooms today and church members are using the space for classes.  Our artisan group, Florecer works weekly in the space that you helped us provide.  Children and families are finding hope through Jesus, and leaders are being developed in that space.
We are so close to being finished.  The final stage that we have committed to is the completion of a multi-purpose room, kitchen, and bathrooms on the second floor and the soccer field on the third floor.  When finished, this space will be used for our newest soccer outreach as well as for an area for recess for our Casita kids.
It’s been a long journey hasn’t it?  Who is ready to be finished?!
On October 4, I will turn 50. That sounds so old.  I’m going to be a little selfish here and tell you that what I really want for my birthday is to be able to finish this project.  We have a $3000 match that has been offered and a total of $16,500 to raise.  If we can raise the money during the month of October, the soccer field can be completed and our new league can begin in November.  That’s exciting!
There are a few ways you can give:

  1. Mail a check to Caroline’s Promise, 1950 Beeson Road, Kernersville, NC 27284 and include a note saying it’s for the Building of Promise
  2. Donate on my Facebook Birthday Fundraiser.  You can find the link on our Caroline’s Promise Facebook Page.  Facebook does not charge us processing fees so this is the very best way to give.
  3. Go to this link and donate.

Will you help us by praying and spreading the word?  Thank you!

Mission team member's "idea" + Facebook Fundraiser = Jobs in San Nicolas

Our last team to Guatemala was in November of 2019.  That seems impossible but it's true.   The primary focus of the team was a pediatric medical clinic that was hugely successful.  However, that wasn't the only seed that was planted that week in the community of San Nicolas.   Wanda King has been going to Guatemala with Caroline's Promise for years.  We can always count on her to bring hand sanitizer, goodie bags that she and her sister make for everyone, and lots of love!  One of the things I love most about Wanda is that she is willing to step in and do anything that is asked of her.  A few weeks before this trip she asked if she could bring a set of hair cutting supplies.  I didn't know if there was a need, but I knew that Wanda felt strongly that she should bring them and so I said "of course!"  Little did we know the impact that one idea would make.   Wanda spent most of that week teaching our partner, Monica how to cut hair.  We quickly realized that
