#GivingTuesday! Help us bring clean water to Gerona

On #GivingTuesday (November 27, 2018) YOU can help us raise money to bring clean water to the community of Gerona by creating a personal fundraising page on Facebook. We spent time this past year, surveying this community and found that the greatest need is clean water.  We are committed to providing effective and sustainable water filters that will cost $65 per family.  Our goal for #GivingTuesday is $13,000 which will provide filters to 200 families!

On Tuesday, Facebook will not only waive the transaction fees for donations made on Facebook Fundraising Pages but together with Pay Pal they will match $7 Million of those donations!
The giving starts on Tuesday at 8am EST (7am Central, 6am Mountain, and 5 am Pacific) and will be given until the $7Million is gone. We know from experience that the matching dollars are usually gone within 30 minutes.
How can you help?

Set up a Facebook fundraising page prior to Tuesday morning and then promote it like crazy, encouraging people to give right at 8am EST.  We like to send personal messages on Monday, inviting people to set their clocks and give on Tuesday at 8am EST.

Donations can be received and the transaction fees will be waived as long as your page is up, but the match will only take place at 8am EST on #GivingTuesday.

It's easy!  We've provided all of the instructions here and are ready to help you!  Just call or text Lisa at 336-669-7340.
Let's get started!
Go to this link
Choose “Create a fundraiser for Caroline’s Promise”
Make sure “Caroline’s Promise” is listed in the box – “Who are you raising money for”
“How much money do you want to raise?”  Let’s go big!  Choose $1000
“When should your fundraiser end?”  - Why not keep it going through the end of the year?  12-31-18
Choose “Next”
“What’s the title of your fundraiser?”  Life Saving Water Filters for Gerona
“Why are you raising money?”  Please make this personal!  Tell why this project is important to you and how you feel about the ministry of Caroline’s Promise
Choose “Next”
“Pick a cover photo”.  Feel free to use a photo that you have or the fundraising page will automatically default to our CP Facebook Cover Photo.
You should receive a “Congratulations” screen with suggestions on how to share on social media.  Be sure to send.  Click “Get Started” and choose your friends to invite to give.
Remember, the first $7 million donated on facebook beginning at 8am EST on #GivingTuesday will be matched by PayPal.  But Facebook will always waive the fee for any money given to a non-profit through a FB fundraiser.
Invite your friends on Sunday or Monday and encourage them to come back at 8am EST Tuesday!
And keep sharing your fundraiser through the end of the year until we reach our goal!
Be sure to share your fundraiser on your facebook often.  Let’s flood Facebook with opportunities to give to this need!
Please let us know if you have questions.  We are here to help!  Call Lisa at 336-669-7340 or text.  We are happy to help you set it up.  Consider setting it up prior to Monday so you will be ready at 8am Tuesday!
We can't thank you enough for helping us bring clean water to the community of Gerona!

Where are they now? Sthefany

Hello, my name is Sthefany.   I am 16 years old and am currently in the 4th year of high school in Biological Sciences.  First of all I want to thank the Groves Family who sponsored me during my primary school period because thanks to them I was able to complete primary school.  I am also very grateful because although I did not meet my sponsors, I appreciated them very much for the support and help they contributed in my life.   It was a great blessing that Caroline's Promise can contribute great things in the life of a person.  The experience I had was totally great. I got to know places thanks to them and they also showed me their love through letters (letters that I still have), gifts and financial aid. I would really like to meet and know how my sponsors are and meet them in person and thank them personally.   And well, I think that these kinds of experiences make you grow as a person in all aspects and how wonderful that those kinds of people exist, s...

Where are they now? Cesy Samayoa

Cesy, translating for Kaitlyn Our friend Cesy was too old to be in our child sponsorship program when we met her, but she definitely benefited from the program because two of her siblings were sponsored consistently.  And we benefited from knowing Cesy!  For years she would translate for our special programs.  I remember speaking to a group of moms years ago and Cesy translated for me.  She stayed for hours after the talk to help me minister to women.  One of those women had concerns about her son who clearly showed signs of ADHD.  Cesy helped me find natural ways to address his inattention and lack of focus and a year later that same Mom shared how Cesy's suggestions had helped! Cesy, we know how hard you have worked and we are incredibly proud of you!  Thank you for being a beautiful example to young women everywhere!
