Caroline's Promise News

Sarah and her family sponsor a child in Guatemala through Caroline's Promise and they are always looking for creative ways to give even more. For Sarah's 14th birthday she asked her friends to bring vitamins instead of gifts.  She collected 38 bottles of vitamins that will be given to the children who attend our Pediatric Clinic this summer.  Thanks so much Sarah! One of my favorite verses is found in Ephesians 3:20   I have claimed this verse so many times and God has proven to be faithful.  I believe the key is to make sure that our heart is aligned with His, and to pray.  Confidently and regularly. One of the best ways that you can partner with us at Caroline's promise is to PRAY!! Here are a few things that we are talking to God about this month.  Won't you join us? Summer Teams :  We have about 75 people joining us this summer and we are asking God to prepare their hearts, provide what they need, and work in and through them while  they are with us in Guatemala . Pray for our team leaders to have wisdom and God's heart for the people on their team.  Pray for protection and health and that our team members will come back, changed and committed to the partnership.  Our Partners:  God has given us a beautiful partnership with the Adonai Church in Guatemala and we are asking Him to continually strengthen and

Our computer lab at Casita Adonai is ready to be filled.  Our summer teams will install desks and chairs and with your help we will be able to deliver 9 laptops.  Each laptop is $350 and our deadline is May 30 to purchase. We would love for you to partner with us by making a non deductible tax donation here.  

The kids LOVE getting letters from their sponsors.  I can't tell you how important this communication is and the impact it makes in their lives.  Please, please, please take the time to write a letter.   If you need suggestions on what to write, check out this blog post with ideas. Our teams normally deliver your gifts but due to rising costs of checked baggage, we will be shipping sponsor gifts this year.  If your items are not in our office by the May 15 deadline, we will more than likely not be able to deliver it.   Please keep gifts to items that will fit into a gallon sized zip lock bag (and close:) This will be your last opportunity in 2017 to send a gift to your sponsored child.  Letters will be accepted in October. A Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser will be held  on Saturday, May 6  from 5 – 7 pm   at the ORUMC Family Life Center. (2424 Oak Ridge Road, Oak Ridge, NC)  Proceeds will benefit the Northwest High School Student Athlete Guatemala Mission Trip for Caroline’s Promise short-term mission in July 2017. Led by  Jared Rolfes, Head Coach at Northwest High School, 14 student athletes from Northwest High School will be leading sports camps for kids and doing mission work with a medical team in the local school and community. Tickets are $10/per person and $30/family of 4. Silent auction items will also be available. Tickets can be purchased ahead of time or at the door or you can register here:
