Here's a glimpse into the 2017 Northwest Athlete & Medical Team

How the Northwest Athlete - Medical Team came to be

In the summer of 2016, 15 year old Cameron Holbrook shared how he felt that Caroline's Promise needed more men on their mission teams.  His heart was touched by the boys and young men he had met in Guatemala and he began to pray for men to catch a vision for the ministry. That Fall Cameron played football for the first time and met Coach Jared Rolfes who was not only a great coach but a follower of Jesus.  Cameron asked Coach Rolfes if he would be interested in taking a team of guys to Guatemala and that opened the door for Lisa to have several conversations with him.  We all laugh that Coach Rolfes turned Lisa down 3 times ! Kristi Clary at the medical clinic in Gerona Once he finally agreed to take a team, he invited Phillip Clary to join him.  In the weeks that followed, Phillip's wife, Kristi expressed an interest in going on what we thought would be an English teaching team at the same time.  Lisa remembered that Kristi was a nurse for a local ...

Spaghetti Dinner to Benefit Football Mission Team

A Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser will be held  on Saturday, May 6  from 5 – 7 pm   at the ORUMC Family Life Center. (2424 Oak Ridge Road, Oak Ridge, NC)  Proceeds will benefit the Northwest High School Student Athlete Guatemala Mission Trip for Caroline’s Promise short-term mission in July 2017. Led by  Jared Rolfes, Head Coach at Northwest High School, 14 student athletes from Northwest High School will be leading sports camps for kids and doing mission work with a medical team in the local school and community. Tickets are $10/per person and $30/family of 4. Silent auction items will also be available. Tickets can be purchased ahead of time or at the door or you can register here:  

2017 Sports Team to Guatemala

2017 Sports Team to Guatemala We are excited to announce that we will have a guy only sports team to Guatemala next summer.  The team will be led by Jared Rolfes, Head Football Coach at Northwest Guilford High School.  The team is open to all high school and college age guys who want to minister to teens in Guatemala through sports. There will be an interest meeting (no obligation) on Monday, December 19 at 6:30pm.  Any student that is interested should attend with a parent.  If you plan to attend the meeting or have other questions please contact Coach Rolfes at jjrolfes@gmail.com or Lisa Holbrook at lisaholbrook@carolinespromise.net for meeting location.   Date of Trip:     June 30th - July 8th 2017 (Dead Week for All Athletics)
