The first week in November, a team of about ten people, coming from four different states, assisted Iglesia Adonai in their yearly vacation bible school. Three of us, though we have been to Guatemala before, were new to VBS at Iglesia. And the rest of the team, save one person, was new to Caroline's Promise, but has helped with VBS for many years. However, God brought all of us together very quickly! Throughout the week, we had a very busy schedule...but the good kind of busy. The kind where you don't realize how exhausted you are until the end of the week, because you're so caught up in how much you love what you're doing. One of our team members shared a verse with us one morning at breakfast that perfectly served as a theme for us the rest of the week :  "The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and His understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary, and young men stumble and fall...

It's never too early to start making plans for a 2016 mission team!  We are excited to announce these trips.  Let us know if you have questions or if you would like us to help you plan a trip for your church or group. Business Training Team - led by Lisa Holbrook & Stephanie DiMora Spring 2016 date to be announced soon!  Contact us if interested We are looking for a small team of men and women who are interested in leading our  Business Training for women in Guatemala City.  Team members need to be  comfortable leading small groups of women. We will provide the curriculum. Cost:  $1000 plus airfare. Application and $100 deposit due by January 5, 2015. This summer a team of 25 people on our family team ministered to and loved on the 150 children of Casita Adonai in Guatemala through an art camp, which culminated with an art exhibition for the parents of the kids. Prior to the trip,  the team collected the much needed supplies and money for the undertaking of this project. An art camp for 150 kids means suitcases full of brushes, paint, glue, paper, etc.  But, as always, God had it all under control. We were so excited when Aimee Bray - Director of Impact Girls at Calvary Church in Greensboro contacted us.  A former team member had shared with her our need for art supplies for art camp. Aimee shared the need with the girls in her group and asked the girls to  bring in whatever they wanted; she suggested a one dollar donation. Almost a year ago we received an anonymous donation designated for our Threads of Promise Sewing Program.  Little did we know that while this donation was being mailed our partners in Guatemala were asking God for a way to start Threads of Promise in the community of Gerona.  (read the story here) What has taken place since then is beautiful! Learning about sewing and Jesus:) Let me explain the community of Gerona .  Tin houses with dirt floors and no indoor plumbing.  Very few have running water and those that do use a common sink for cooking, bathing, washing clothes This video shows what Gerona is like.  and dishes.  Several families own their property but most rent and are often forced to move because their landlord just decides he wants to do something different with the land.  Most adults don't have an education and so finding work is difficult.  The kids can go to public school for free but often can't afford the supplies and schoo...
