One of our favorite parts of working with teams is our final debrief where we hear what God has been doing in their lives. We have a process that we walk them through and at the end God gives them one sentence that sums up what he was teaching them. Here's what God did in the lives of our welding and children's ministry team.
In Guatemala God taught me that:
No matter how far you venture outside your comfort zone, God is always there to help you push further outside of it.
He has walked beside me through every fear, anxiety, and insecurity.
I am stronger than I allow myself to think.
Even if you are scared to talk in Spanish, go ahead and do it. They just want to know you care and are trying.
No matter what country you’re from or what language you speak, we are all united under God.
God led me to step out of my fear and into freedom, even in the imperfection.
I learned that despite the difficult things going on, that God’s not done yet.
That being quiet is also about resting my heart.
That no matter how you show your affection to the kinds, even if it’s just a hug, they will be very content with it.
We are all His children.
I could see the love of God in the people here and it just made the whole world more real.
That they are all His children and He is watching over every single one of them and that we are all brothers and sisters.
That I can make a difference in someone’s future.
That I don’t have to do everything on my own and that He will always put the right people in my life when I need them.
I can make a difference in people’s lives even if I don’t see how, as long as I follow His lead.
To stop believing lies about myself.

Medical need for Rodrigo's Family

Mission team member's "idea" + Facebook Fundraiser = Jobs in San Nicolas

Our last team to Guatemala was in November of 2019.  That seems impossible but it's true.   The primary focus of the team was a pediatric medical clinic that was hugely successful.  However, that wasn't the only seed that was planted that week in the community of San Nicolas.   Wanda King has been going to Guatemala with Caroline's Promise for years.  We can always count on her to bring hand sanitizer, goodie bags that she and her sister make for everyone, and lots of love!  One of the things I love most about Wanda is that she is willing to step in and do anything that is asked of her.  A few weeks before this trip she asked if she could bring a set of hair cutting supplies.  I didn't know if there was a need, but I knew that Wanda felt strongly that she should bring them and so I said "of course!"  Little did we know the impact that one idea would make.   Wanda spent most of that week teaching our partner, Monica how to cut hair.  We quickly realized that
