Dianne's Facebook Birthday Fundraiser

Dianne Miller loves youth sports. Before retirement she was a Physical Education teacher in Northern Virginia where she still encourages play and physical activity. When she decided to host a Fundraiser for Caroline’s Promise on her birthday, we were thrilled! We knew the exact group that should be helped from the money that she raised.

Before the Covid Pandemic we were blessed to be able to help our friends in Zone 21 start a soccer academy that reached some of the most vulnerable kids in Guatemala City. Dianne was able to raise $500 from her Facebook friends and the students from the fútbol academy received needed food supplies.

It was an easy way for Dianne to support Caroline’s Promise and make a difference in the lives of kids who were so much like the kids she had spent her life investing in.

What about you? Do you have a Birthday coming up? Please consider hosting a Birthday Fundraiser on Facebook. Follow this link for more information and contact us with questions.

How Can a Pillow Case Change a Life?

One of our summer mission teams will help start a sewing ministry with the Moms at Casita Adonai in Guatemala City.  Their first project will be to make an adorable pillow case dress!  Our hope is that God will use this ministry to encourage these women, open their hearts to Him, and help them learn a skill they can use to provide for their family.  The end result will be Mamas keeping their children instead of abandoning them! If you would like to contribute to this project you can donate new pillow cases in solid or cute patterns or make a donation.  Our deadline is June 1.  To contribute financially choose Guatemala Orphan Projects and put sewing in the comment box.

Standing beside each other

Oak trees are an amazing creation. They seem almost magical in their ability to grow a mighty oak tree from a tiny cute acorn. We often focus on the beauty of the tree or its acorns- but the most intriguing part might be the unseen part, its roots. The roots of the tree bring nourishment, protect against illness and drought, they even serve as an anchor when the wind blows. Without the roots, we don’t have the tree. Oak tree roots in particular are unique. When all grown, the roots might be 4-7 times larger than the width of the tree. Even if there is devastation, like a fire, a new tree can sprout from the roots of the old tree. One of my favorite parts I never knew- when Oak trees are planted beside each other, their roots can merge tougher and even graph together to become an interconnected system. Stronger, more secure, supportive. God never uses words carelessly. He said in Isaiah 61:3 “They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display o

Will you help Florecer to purchase sewing machines?

Caroline’s Promise artisan group, Florecer, is growing! Thanks to our new friend, Meredith Ferrell, the group has several new products to make, requiring higher quality sewing machines. We would like to be able to purchase 6 quality sewing machines. The average cost for each machine is $500. We have raised $510 to date.  Changing the world doesn’t mean giving hand outs. Changing the world means providing jobs, training, education, and sharing Jesus. By partnering with us to purchase sewing machines, you become a world changer. You are making an impact on an artisan’s life. It gives her work. Work gives her income to feed her children and pay tuition and gives her dignity. Worth and dignity. Partnering with us to provide sewing machines brings worth and dignity to women, children, and families living in an impoverished country. Be a world changer! You can donate here . We appreciate your support!
